Tell us about the health issue you're facing.

I have cystic fibrosis and because of that, I have an ovarian cyst from endometriosis-related fibrosis. I also had complications in my lungs because of many scars there. At first, I thought I was just a weak child but when I grew up and we came to the doctors for check-up, I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. I guess it was what you called a late diagnosis. I thought I wouldn't live long but I even got married. Also, based on what my doctors said, some of the tissue shed during the period flows through the fallopian tube into other areas of the ovary and turns to chocolate-like blood that causes a cyst. They said that it may be connected to my fibrosis because I was also diagnosed before with cystic fibrosis.

How does CF affect your daily life? How about your outlook in life?

This really affects my life as a woman because my chance of conceiving a child decreases. It is also uncomfortable to have CF. I always tire easily and if I'm not careful, I get lung infections which adds up to my medical expenses. There are many foods that I can't enjoy and even if I eat more, I don't gain weight. However, my outlook in life has changed because of God.  I put all my trust to Him. To men it is impossible but to Jesus, it is possible because He is a miracle worker and a promise keeper.

Are you taking any prescribed medications? What are your experiences with these
medications?

Having this kind of illness affects my daily life because I need to overcome the pain and I'm tired of taking the pills. I have antibiotics, bronchodilators, and anti-inflammatories along with other medicine. Also, the cost of those medicine is so expensive (ex. 2,500 per set with only 28 tablets) and I need to buy it every month and there's no cure for this. Its just a temporary remedy.

Have you told your friends/coworkers about your condition? What made you decide to tell/not tell them about it? What was their reaction?

I remember my experiences while taking my medications. I have told my friends/coworkers about my condition and they've been praying for me. I have told them that I need to see a Doctor for a check up and they were concerned of my health especially that they knew I was praying to have a baby. I know it's a long shot but I laso know that miracles happen. The same reactions with my family, they were all praying for good, for strength to fight this battle and healing.

Do you ever experience stress due to your condition? If so, what causes your stress and how do you manage it?

At first I experienced stress due to this condition. I think it's a matter of physical and mental resiliency. Too much work gives me pain especially standing in an hour. It bothers me so much.

What is your message and advice to a person who also has CF who might be reading
this?

My message and advice to a person who also has the disease is you need to keep in mind that this battles is not yours, it's God's battle and He wants you to rely unto Him, connect with Him in prayer. Believe that in Him, we are completely healed. Ask God to increase your faith and to never give up. Think positive and stay away from stress by listening to inspiring music especially heavenly music. Whatever it takes, always put in your mind that everything happens for a reason and purpose. Jesus allows it to happen for you to draw near to Him and have a deeper relationship to our Creator. Have a healthy living, sleep early for the best recovery , do exercise, eat more fruits, drink water for cleansing and take time to do PRAYER and FASTING - the best way to heal our body and soul, a way to build relationship to Jesus.
